Art Front, UNC Asheville's student art organization, presents “Vantage Point,” the annual juried Art Front members show, through February 8, at Highsmith University Union Gallery on the campus. UNC Asheville Art History faculty and students selected the works for this show. There will be an opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 13, in the gallery.Highsmith University Union Gallery is free and open to the public, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 12-6 p.m. on Sundays. Cultural Events & Special Academic Programs’ (CESAP) mission is to provide programming and services that serve as a bridge connecting our campus community of students, staff and faculty to our local, state, regional, national and international communities through the arts and non-credit academic programs. The Highsmith University Union Gallery serves as a resource for students, faculty, and the community through its exhibitions of work by invited artists (local, national, and international), annual on-campus group shows, and Senior Shows by students in the Art Department. We strive to be an art space on campus that is welcoming and accessible to all. The mission of the Highsmith Union Gallery is to connect Gallery exhibits to current UNC Asheville curriculum as well as campus trends, interests, current events and issues in Asheville and beyond, and to broader movements in the art world.
