 Kids can super-size their Saturdays at UNC Asheville this fall! Gifted, imaginative and motivated third-eighth graders have an opportunity to explore biology, acting, chess and much more at UNC Asheville's 23rd annual Super Saturday program beginning October 11. This program has helped more than 12,000 children from across Western North Carolina explore their special interests through hands-on learning on the UNC Asheville campus.
Some 36 unique courses are open for registration. New classes this fall include conversational German, beginning knitting, "Spanish Through Song" and "Fooling Around with Words." In addition, creative kids can learn about photography, animation, watercolor painting and web design. Budding scientists can take courses in physics, chemistry or rocketry. Students interested in becoming global citizens will enjoy classes in French conversation, Chinese dynasties or Caribbean drumming. Several University faculty members and highly qualified upper-level students teach Super Saturday classes, along with outstanding public school teachers and other professionals. Super Saturday courses meet 9 a.m.-noon on Saturdays from October 11-November 15. All students are welcome to apply; the registration deadline is October 8. Tuition is $65 for each course.
