The Swayback Sisters will perform at a free evening music event in Flat Rock on Saturday,
September 4th, beginning at 6 p.m. This free outdoor concert is presented by the Flat Rock
Merchants Association with sponsorship help from Charleston Garden at Flat Rock and Lita
Stum, Keller Williams Realty. The concert will be held in Flat Rock on Little Rainbow Row’s
back deck (behind the colorful shops, corner of Greenville Highway and West Blue Ridge Road)
from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Concerts are held on the first Saturday of the month through October.
The remaining concert of the season is October 2nd featuring local group “Peace Out”. The Swayback Sisters hail individually from Asheville, North Carolina, these "sisters" decided to join forces & create a diverse musical experience for themselves as well as their audiences. While each Sister is proficient in her songwriting & crafty guitar work, the real treat is the blending of their voices. Laura Blackey and Lyndsay Wojcik perform mostly their own originals and this duo also has select older standards and re-vamped covers in their repertoire. (Accapella versions of old Appalachian folks songs side by side with popular hits done the Swayback way! ) As well as guitar, they accompany their beautiful voices with other instruments including banjo and fiddle. Great food and beverages will be available from Flat Rock Village Bakery (pizzas) and Hubba Hubba Smokehouse (BBQ). Off-street parking will be designated with limited handicap accessibility.
