Autumn is a busy season at the Montford Recreation Center. Asheville Parks and Recreation and Center will offer the following programs and eventsthis fall:
- Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts and Montford Recreation Center will bring back Tiny Tot Adventures this fall, on Tues and Thurs, from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., starting Sept 9 at the center, 34 Pearson Drive. Fun for children ages 0-4, with parent, with activities to include unstructured gym free play, craft, snack, story time and special event fun. Riding toys are welcome! - Montford Recreation Center will host several community yard sales this fall at the center, located at 34 Pearson Drive. Sell your wares and old treasures, or find great bargains, including an assortment of household appliances, furniture, outdoor gear, clothing, and much more. This is also a great time to clean out the basement or garage and make a profit on those items you no longer need. Held the first Sat monthly, Sept – Nov. Tables are $5 and can be reserved prior to each sale. Sign up early – tables go fast! Sale will move indoors in case of inclement weather. - Have the ultimate adventure right at your fingertips – an indoor climbing wall! New holds and routes for this fall. Climbing wall is open Mon, Wed, Fri, from 6-9 p.m. and Sat from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Cost: $5 per climbing session, with additional fees to rent gear. Also available: belay certification classes, yearly passes, 10-climb passes, climbing wall rentals and birthday parties. - Enjoy special workshops this fall to combine fun with safety awareness. Designed for children ages 4-5, program will meet 2nd Fri monthly, Sept-Dec, from 10-11 a.m. Each workshop will cover a general safety awareness topic: Fire safety, Pedestrian and Bicycle safety, Car and Bus safety.
