YWCA of Asheville
Eliminating racism, empowering women -- it's what the YWCA is about and what it intends to do.  The YWCA of Asheville offers  programs in Aquatics (including swim lessons) and Health and Fitness, as well as child care, after-school, and youth and teens programs.

Club W, the YWCA Health & Fitness Center offers a fitness room with strength training equipment, weights and the latest technology in cardio equipment. Yoga, tai chi, body pump and pilates classes are offered in the YWCA fitness studio. Participants also have access to an indoor heated indoor pool for water exercise and lap swimming. Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is a life-changing, experiential learning programs for girls age eight to thirteen years old. The programs combine training for a 3.1 mile running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the programs are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development.

The Health Adventure
The Health Adventure is a health and science museum for children and today's families dedicated to improving health awareness, promoting wellness lifestyles, and increasing science literacy through programs and exhibits.

Coping with Illness Support Group - Pathways Group is offered to people who have been diagnosed with a chronic illness. Group provides a place to share fears, hopes, treatment issues, beliefs and successes. Meetings are from 5:30 to 7:00pm on Mondays at Pathways-Life After Cancer, 121 Sherwood Rd., Asheville. WNC Families CAN supports families whose children have serious emotional and behavioral issues. Monthly support meetings, Supportive Connections, resources, and a library. Helping families with birth, adopted, and foster children who may suffer from bipolar, post traumatic stress, ADHD, autism, or other issues.
